Senior Staff Software Development Engineer

Overview

Senior Staff Engineer in the Video Engineering team, building and scaling media infrastructure for high-performance streaming.

What you'll do

• Serve as functional lead for code, design, and project delivery with high quality and on-time completion.
• Independently tackle complex technical challenges for large systems.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and optimization areas.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and make technical decisions based on trade-offs.
• Collaborate with product managers to decompose large projects and prioritize tasks.
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability across mobile, Web, and Living Room devices.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers.

What you'll need

• 9-12 years of progressive software development experience with delivery track record.
• Strong coding and design skills in Java or Golang.
• Experience building high-scale distributed domain-driven microservices.
• Proficiency with MySQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Experience using AWS stacks including SQS, DynamoDB, EKS, and Aurora (added advantage).
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to debug complex production issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders and teams.
