Information Security Analyst I

Overview

The Security Analyst I works on the Security Operations team to monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts across systems and infrastructure. The role contributes to continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities and works closely with internal stakeholders to verify activity and mitigate risks.

What you'll do

• Monitor and triage security alerts independently, escalating as appropriate.
• Identify pathways to improve alert accuracy and reduce noise.
• Contribute to documentation of processes and procedures.
• Research and analyze emerging threats relevant to the organization.
• Participate in compliance, audit, and risk management activities as needed.
• Protect information, uphold confidentiality, and conduct all activities in alignment with Mimecast’s policies.
• Complete relevant role-based security and privacy training.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of experience in IT, security, or a related field.
• Practical experience with security monitoring and response using tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security concepts.
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strict adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards and regulations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience using automation tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving threats and technologies.

• Work different shifts on a rotational basis.
• Work as an individual contributor under moderate supervision.
