Overview
Intellectual Property Engineer responsible for selecting IP protections, managing patent portfolios, and supporting patent filings and enforcement activities.
What you'll do
- Select appropriate IP protection type and decide the best way to proceed.
- Support invention/creation definition, preparation of filings, and patent prosecutions.
- Contribute to decisions on foreign filings and product coverage strategy with R&D/Projects.
- Manage patent portfolio and handle prevention/defense against third-party actions.
- Conduct competitor patent project studies and perform patent clearances and IP validity studies.
- Support oppositions/nullity suits and follow infringement claims and litigations.
- Review IP clauses in agreements and propose modifications; deliver IP training to R&D/R&I teams.
What you'll need
- Experience in IP protection selection, filings, prosecutions, and related activities across IP types (Patent/Design/Copyright).
- Ability to manage patent portfolio activities, including defending or preventing third-party actions.
- Experience with patent clearances and IP rights validity/risk assessment on families or clusters.
- Ability to support opposition/nullity and infringement actions and pre-litigation activities.
- Experience collaborating with IP and other functions on litigation and enforcement actions.
- Ability to review and modify IP clauses in agreements.
