Java Developer

Overview

Intermediate Java developer role in Citi's Applications Development group, participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.

What you'll do

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas, to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code.
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions; install and support customer exposure systems.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions.
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, guided by precedents.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations and Policy, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• 4-8 years of industry experience with hands-on experience in Java.
• Strong understanding and experience in Java, Spring Boot and Microservices development.
• Good logical and analytical skills.
• Very strong programming skills in Java, Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Good working knowledge of CI/CD process, JUnit, Jenkins, SonarQube and DevOps tools.
• Experience of working in SDLC/STLC and Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Working knowledge of SQL and UNIX shell scripting.
• Good knowledge of Git, UDeploy and TeamCity.
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in Fixed Income domain.
• Experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes/Splunk.
