Full Stack Developer

Overview

Junior / mid-level full stack developer to build and maintain secure, reliable software for complex public-sector and operational environments.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain software features using Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs that support internal systems and integrations.
• Contribute to front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React/Angular technologies where needed.
• Write clean, readable, maintainable code and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Support quality via unit, integration and functional testing, code reviews and defect resolution.
• Use Git, build tools and CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with product, QA, design, DevOps and other engineers.
• Apply good engineering practice across security, performance, accessibility and maintainability.

What you'll need

• Around 2 to 5 years of software development experience (exact years not strictly required).
• Hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin and object-oriented programming.
• Exposure to Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks.
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, collaborative development workflows, CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery.
• A test-first attitude with willingness to write and maintain automated tests.
• Ability to work in an agile team and communicate clearly.

• Security clearance eligibility may be required, depending on the project or assignment.
• Must have right to work in the UK and meet UK residency requirements for security clearance eligibility (5 years minimum residency in the UK).
