Lead Avionics System Engineer

Overview

Lead the design, development, verification, validation and certification of safety-critical real-time systems and software for avionics applications conforming to DO-178B/C for Airbus Helicopters.

What you'll do

• Author and review system and software requirements, including systems-level and high-level requirements.
• Validate and verify system and software requirements.
• Integrate systems and software requirements.
• Perform integration testing (system-software, software-software and software-hardware).
• Analyse issues raised during testing campaigns or in-service usage.
• Identify and validate change impact analysis.
• Automate and explore new ways of working to improve systems activities (Python-based, DOORS plug-in, other methods).
• Support certification activities, including authoring and reviewing SAS, PSAC and SVP.

What you'll need

• Experience in the full system and software lifecycle, including system and software requirements definition, dynamic and static design, and verification activities for avionics and other aerospace systems.
• Hands-on experience in systems and software requirements engineering and architecture design and development (module-level design, interfaces, algorithms).
• Unit and integration testing in host and target environments.
• Systems and software configuration management.
• Ability to identify the development lifecycle activities needed to develop a system or product and provide confidence consistent with regulation and program requirements.
• Ability to define checkpoints and reviews with maturity expectations aligned to program phases and gates.
• Ability to provide detailed data and information about system elements consistent with architectural entities and allocated requirements.
• Ability to work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and other disciplines across the whole product lifecycle.
• Understanding of program industrial planning organisation, infrastructure, constraints and limitations.
• Understanding of global systems and products and their interdependencies during industrialisation.
• Knowledge of requirements and design standards, with work experience on DO-178B.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Quick learner.
