Lead Electrical Engineer

Overview

Lead electrical design for the LV/MV product portfolio, covering component selection, drive sizing and filter design.

What you'll do

• Design LV/MV hardware for AC/DC drive and power electronics systems, including drive and filter sizing, product hardware design, loss budget calculation, earth and protection circuits, arc flash calculation and RCA.
• Understand product and project specifications and translate requirements into designs using calculations, modeling and simulations.
• Design systems and equipment to meet reliability, testing standards, manufacturability, material and cost guidelines.
• Prepare and validate design documents, including configurations, principles of operation, application guidelines, specifications, GA, BOM, SLD and schematic drawings.
• Verify functional performance of prototype hardware under all specified operating conditions.
• Support manufacturing with component installation, wire harness and cable routing, and maintain clearance and creepage at factory and vendor facilities.
• Lead alternate component selection, validation, localization and testing.
• Document functional test requirements, conduct tests to applicable standards (UL/IEC etc.) and conduct project FATs.
• Coordinate continuously with the System Engineer and Program, Product or Project Manager.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of electrical design for industrial drives or control panels such as PCC, MCC, switchboards and PLC panels.
• In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems.

Nice to have

• Experience or knowledge of electrical design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, E-Plan, ETAP and MATLAB.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide a team.
