Lead Engineer - AI-Native Email App

Overview

Lead Engineer (AI-Native Email App) is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for designing and delivering complex products and systems.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution of major products, features, and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and manage technical trade-offs for speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous problems into engineering solutions and execution plans.
• Monitor production, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and improve reliability.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership.
• Comfort reviewing code, debugging complex issues, and working with production systems.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical decisions and influence engineers across teams.
