Senior Software Engineer I/II - Infrastructure

Overview

Senior Software Engineer in the Infrastructure organization, responsible for evolving cloud foundations and improving the safety, resilience, operability, and cost efficiency of production infrastructure across AWS environments.

What you'll do

• Set technical direction for major infrastructure systems and lead cross-team initiatives.
• Design, build, and operate reliable cloud platforms across infrastructure domains.
• Improve scalability, capacity management, failure isolation, recovery, and cost efficiency.
• Build infrastructure-as-code workflows and reusable automation for provisioning, testing, rollout, rollback, and drift prevention.
• Identify shared failure modes and create safeguards against broad customer impact.
• Participate in incident response and use incidents to drive architectural improvements.
• Mentor engineers and communicate architecture, risks, trade-offs, and migration plans.

What you'll need

• 6+ years designing and building software, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Experience operating critical systems in production.
• Deep expertise in compute, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud infrastructure control planes.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals in Go, Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience operating infrastructure on a major public cloud platform.
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• AWS experience.
• Experience with ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
• Experience with stateful distributed systems or large-scale storage platforms.
• Experience building internal infrastructure platforms or self-service developer experiences.
• Experience with multi-account or multi-region architectures, disaster recovery, or major infrastructure migrations.
• Experience delivering measurable improvements in capacity, cost efficiency, or developer self-service.

Details

• Remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.
• Annual base salary: USD 154,700–260,000.
• Full-time position.
