Senior Software Engineer- Blockchain Network

Overview

Senior Software Engineer for Coinbase’s Blockchain Networks team in the Platform group, building blockchain network infrastructure and platform APIs that integrate blockchain protocols with internal services.

What you'll do

• Own the design and delivery of blockchain network infrastructure that abstracts blockchain complexity into reliable platform APIs.
• Lead multi-quarter initiatives such as new chain integrations, re-architecture work, and data migrations to improve latency, reliability, and cost.
• Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you build, including on-call ownership.
• Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives.
• Build technical context across multiple blockchain protocols and apply it to simplify cross-chain operations.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production services in a service-oriented architecture.
• Proven experience designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of: Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, or similar infrastructure technologies.
• Direct experience integrating with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, or similar L1/L2 networks).
• Ability to decompose complex systems into microservices with clear API contracts.
• Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and measurable workflow improvements.
