Lead Engineer - Controls Software

Overview

Lead Engineer for Control Software responsible for technical ownership and delivery of control system functions for STATCOM/SVC and FACTS projects.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement STATCOM/SVC control algorithms and control functions using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Run MATLAB/Simulink implementation, simulation, verification, and validation of control functions.
• Develop and execute PSCAD simulations for dynamic performance studies and control validation.
• Perform controller performance evaluation under grid conditions, disturbances, faults, and voltage/VAR requirements.
• Conduct RTDS-based real-time testing, including closed-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Lead software/control engineering activities from engineering through testing and commissioning, including coordination across teams.

What you'll need

• 8-12 years of experience in FACTS/HVDC projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for implementing and simulating control algorithms.
• Strong practical experience with PSCAD/EMTDC for dynamic performance studies.
• Hands-on experience in RTDS real-time simulation and controller testing, including closed-loop/HIL.
• Practical experience in STATCOM or SVC commissioning.
• MSc/MTech or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or equivalent.
