Lead Software Engineer

Overview

Lead Software Engineer position focused on developing and overseeing complex software components for internal and external client solutions within Global Payments’ payments technology stack.

What you'll do

• Develop complex code across front-end and/or back-end technologies for client software solutions.
• Design, create, deliver, and advise on complex program specifications and code support.
• Perform SME-level analysis, modification, and unit testing to support application documentation.
• Evaluate and implement testing/validation requirements and corrective measures for complex code issues.
• Participate in client-facing discussions and vendor partnership teams to shape solution approaches.
• Recommend and help enforce business/infrastructure application standards and related controls.
• Provide SME guidance and training to software engineers.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
• Database design knowledge including DDL and DML (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, DB2, Hadoop).
• Back-end technology skills including Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, Mainframe COBOL, or Mainframe Assembler.
• Front-end technology skills including HTML, JavaScript, or jQuery.
• Web/framework and development tools experience (e.g., Node.js, React.js, Angular; Eclipse/Visual Studio/Webpack/Babel/Gulp).

Nice to have

• Machine Learning experience with Python, R, Matlab, Tensorflow, or DMTK.
