Lead Software Engineer

Overview

Lead Software Engineer focused on building enterprise Observability capabilities to improve telemetry, monitoring, and observability across on-prem and cloud platforms.

What you'll do

• Lead complex, potentially companywide technology initiatives with broad impact.
• Develop engineering standards and companywide best practices for large-scale solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.
• Review and analyze complex solutions for tactical and strategic objectives and technical challenges.
• Decide on and influence standard practices requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies.
• Collaborate with technical experts and mentor peers on engineering projects.
• Champion AI and agentic systems within observability, including anomaly detection and automation to reduce operational toil.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent via experience, training, military experience, or education).
• Experience in cloud, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, time series metrics, capacity, machine learning, or synthetics monitoring tools.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, Linux shell scripting, Java Spring Boot, ReactJS, Spring framework, UML, and NoSQL/SQL databases.
• Experience with Kafka pub/sub model, ETL, microservices development, and Kubernetes.
• 4+ years developing AI-powered products end-to-end, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and optimization.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools including (Synthetics - Thousand Eyes), Prometheus (or other), AppDynamics, Splunk, BigPanda (or other).
