Lead Software Engineer

Overview

Lead Software Engineer on the Trimble Unity team, working from the Chennai office. The role acts as the go-to technical leader for the team, building consensus across teams and serving as a key resource for the engineering community.

What you'll do

• Assist with scalable architectural designs and ensure robust implementation patterns.
• Manage large-scale context in Cursor (using .cursorrules) to ensure AI-generated code adheres to enterprise patterns.
• Use agentic tools to rapidly build and iterate on high-level technical designs and proofs-of-concept.
• Identify performance bottlenecks efficiently using Profilers, Memory Dumps, and APM tools like New Relic.
• Build technical consensus across multiple teams and act as a key knowledge resource for the engineering community.

What you'll need

• Advanced .NET mastery: deeply proficient in C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern Web APIs.
• Modern frontend: proficient in React development and Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture.
• Testing excellence: proficient experience in Unit and Integration test automation.
• In-depth understanding of critical related domains such as Security or Performance Engineering.

Nice to have

• High-fidelity testing: intermediate knowledge of testing methodologies, including data-flow analysis and comprehensive use-case coverage.
• Advanced observability: prior hands-on troubleshooting using production-level application performance monitoring tools.
