Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer on the Trimble Unity team, serving as a technical authority who solves complex problems, influences long-term technology strategy, and coordinates engineering efforts across groups.

What you'll do

• Take responsibility for the technical integrity and scalability of your team's technology suite, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Drive organizational adoption of Agentic AI by building skills (via MCP or custom integrations) that let AI safely interact with internal systems.
• Establish standards ensuring security, maintainability, and architectural consistency for AI-assisted development.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve high-impact, unique issues using innovative, conceptual thinking.
• Act as an expert in identifying performance bottlenecks using profilers, memory dumps, and APM tools such as New Relic.
• Communicate difficult concepts to senior stakeholders.
• Create formal networks to coordinate efforts across various engineering groups.

What you'll need

• Advanced .NET mastery: deep expertise in the .NET ecosystem, including performance tuning and advanced Microservices modeling.
• Proficient in React development and Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture.
• Proficient experience in unit and integration test automation.
• In-depth understanding of related domains such as Security and Performance Engineering.

Nice to have

• Intermediate-level knowledge of Cloud Computing (Azure/AWS) and infrastructure-as-code to support global-scale applications.
• Prior experience establishing governance or frameworks for cross-functional engineering groups.
