Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff-level software engineer role focused on AI-driven, cloud-native SaaS transportation management solutions within Trimble Transportation, based in Chennai, India.

What you'll do

• Spearhead full-lifecycle software development, from rapid prototyping to deploying scalable cloud solutions using AI-assisted tools.
• Architect and optimize responsive, user-friendly front-end components integrated with robust back-end services.
• Establish quality benchmarks and code review frameworks to audit AI-generated code for security, performance, and long-term maintainability.
• Drive the adoption of AI-first development methodologies across international teams, mentoring engineers on prompt-driven development and context management.
• Collaborate in an agile environment to drive continuous deployment, performance enhancements, and system optimizations for global operations.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of full-stack software engineering experience focused on application performance, security, and scalability.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#, .NET, and .NET Core RESTful APIs.
• Strong experience with public cloud infrastructure (Azure), cloud-native services, CI/CD, Docker, and SQL Server database optimization.
• Demonstrated mastery of AI-native development workflows, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted coding tools.

Nice to have

• Experience leading cross-functional AI initiatives across international engineering teams.
• Background in developing high-throughput SaaS solutions tailored for transportation, logistics, or supply chain industries.
