Manager, Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Lead digitization and standardization initiatives to drive model-centric electrical design across Otis, using Zuken E3 Electrical CAD tools, and act as a technical evangelist for emerging engineering tools and processes.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and review electrical components and subsystems, ensuring adherence to global design standards and best practices.
• Establish, deploy, and govern global engineering standards, electrical design methodologies, libraries, templates, and workflows.
• Design and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, harness designs, electrical subsystems, control systems, drives, motors, and control and power circuits.
• Select, size, and validate electrical components, cable routing, panel design, power supplies, and perform engineering calculations.
• Perform FMEA, RRCA, RAMP, DoE, qualification testing, reliability analysis, and risk mitigation activities.
• Partner with global engineering teams, chief engineers, module owners, and discipline leads to drive standardization and design deployment.
• Lead project planning, stakeholder management, and operational execution, supporting engineering through manufacturing and field installation.
• Drive value engineering, obsolescence management, alternative design solutions, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Develop and deliver scalable training, coaching, and change management programs for digital engineering adoption.

What you'll need

• BE/BTech/MTech with 12+ years of experience as an electrical design engineer/lead or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience in tools such as AutoCAD, E Plan, or E3.
• Experience in product development and in industrial electrical components or switchgear.
• Delivery of electrical components and sub-system design meeting Otis standards of safety, quality and design.
• Delivery of electrical designs on time, meeting requirements and within cost targets.
• Improvement in design quality through reduction in design errors and escapes to the field or end users.
