Manager, Software Engineering (L4)

Overview

Engineering Manager for Twilio’s Flex product team, managing the Flex Billing & Backend team of software engineers.

What you'll do

• Manage and extend the Flex Billing & Backend feature set for customer use.
• Lead and support team members to enable individual success and growth.
• Understand architecture and processes for always-available, complex, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Advocate agile processes, continuous integration, and test automation.
• Solve strategic problems across the lifecycle from conception through ongoing 24x7 service operation.
• Communicate technical concepts to product managers, architects, engineers, and support.
• Explain technical concepts both in person and in written form.

What you'll need

• Minimum 10+ years of experience.
• 5 years of proven track record leading and managing software teams.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams within the team.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Technical experience with REST APIs and Java/Go.
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, plus SaaS telemetry/observability tools (Datadog, Graphana, Prometheus).

Details

• Role is remote and based in India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra & New Delhi).
• May require occasional travel for in-person project or team meetings.
