Medical Director

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead clinical operations and governance at our rapidly expanding healthcare chain in South India. You'll drive clinical excellence, ensure full regulatory compliance with MCA standards, and partner with hospital leadership to balance ethical practice with sustainable revenue growth.

What you'll do

• Establish and oversee clinical governance frameworks ensuring adherence to Medical Council regulations and hospital policies across all departments
• Lead, mentor, and manage all clinicians and medical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and ethical practice
• Drive patient safety initiatives and clinical quality assurance programs, with authority to implement corrective actions
• Align clinical operations with hospital revenue targets and business objectives while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards
• Represent the medical team in strategic hospital management meetings, providing clinical input on expansion, resource allocation, and policy decisions

What we're looking for

• MBBS Doctor with 15+ years of clinical practice and demonstrable experience in medical leadership or hospital governance roles
• MBA in Hospital Administration or equivalent healthcare management qualification
• Strong understanding of MCA compliance, medical regulations, and healthcare accreditation standards
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse clinical teams across multiple specialties
• Strategic mindset with experience balancing clinical excellence, patient safety, and institutional profitability
• Based in or willing to relocate to Chennai

Nice to have

• Prior experience with hospital accreditation (NABH, JCI) or quality management systems
• Background in healthcare administration or additional certifications in regulatory affairs
• Experience scaling healthcare operations in multi-unit chains
