MTS-2 Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

MTS-2 Machine Learning Engineer to build ML platforms, services, APIs, data pipelines, and MLOps capabilities for Ads at eBay.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend and ML systems for sponsored experiences, ranking, retrieval, and personalization.
• Develop and own MLOps pipelines for CI/CD, training, validation, and monitoring of production models.
• Engineer robust data pipelines to process vast datasets for model training and feature engineering.
• Implement and optimize traditional ML and Generative AI models for low-latency, high-throughput serving.
• Translate research prototypes into production-ready code with Applied Researchers.
• Monitor system performance, resolve production issues, and improve reliability and efficiency.

What you'll need

• MS in Computer Science or related area with 7+ years relevant work experience, or BS/BA with 9+ years.
• Production engineering and software development in an OO language (Scala, Java, Python, etc.).
• Experience with distributed big data frameworks (Apache Hadoop, Spark, Flink, or similar).
• Production experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Preferred experience with serving frameworks (TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, NVIDIA Triton) and LLM ops libraries (LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers).
• Ability to build/manage CI/CD pipelines for ML models and proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
