Packaging Engineer - Regulatory & Compliance Manager

Overview

Lead GE Vernova’s packaging compliance and regulatory strategy, initially focused on the European Union Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert and coordinate cross-functional compliance efforts across markets.

What you'll do

• Lead the enterprise implementation strategy for PPWR.
• Monitor European packaging legislation and translate requirements into business processes.
• Develop and maintain the PPWR compliance roadmap, milestones, resources, and timelines.
• Coordinate teams to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with engineering, sourcing, and suppliers on compliant packaging designs and materials.
• Establish governance, metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting for PPWR and EPR compliance.
• Lead compliance risk assessments, audits, training, and mitigation planning.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, packaging engineering, product compliance, sustainability, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, supply chain, packaging engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience interpreting and implementing complex international regulations.
• Strong project and program management experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Experience with PPWR, Extended Producer Responsibility, or European environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of packaging design, materials, recyclability standards, and sustainable packaging.
• Experience in manufacturing, energy, industrial equipment, or highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with lifecycle assessment, circular economy principles, or sustainability reporting.
• PMP certification or equivalent program management experience.

Details

• Remote position.
• U.S. pay range: $98,400–$164,000 yearly.
• U.S. work authorization is required.
