Patient Engagement Lead – Global Clinical Trial Recruitment and Retention, Serbia based

Overview

Lead patient recruitment and retention (R&R) operations for clinical trials, coordinating study teams and solution partners to drive successful patient enrollment.

What you'll do

• Lead discussion with study functional area leads and solution partners to identify and evaluate fundamental issues affecting successful patient enrollment.
• Compile and interpret data to make sound, justifiable business decisions, and ensure solutions are documented and agreed.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of the healthcare landscape and patient recruitment solutions for your country and region, with a strong understanding of global patient recruitment strategies.
• Support the development of mitigation strategies in support of senior team members.
• Lead the development, preparation, approval and distribution of integrated tactics relating to R&R Ops from sponsor contracting through to closure of R&R activities.
• Collaborate with the study team to define and lead community outreach activities, including advocacy group liaison and attendance at local chapter events.
• Orchestrate operations of integrated solution partners in scope, including setting meeting agendas, leading meetings, representing solutions to the Project Lead and client, tracking and reporting progress, reporting risks and mitigations, identifying gaps and implementing efficiencies.
• Act as gatekeeper for quality control, accountable for the quality of work completed on studies you oversee.
• Orchestrate development of, or review and provide feedback on, the initial Participant Engagement Plan (PEP) with solution partners, and take responsibility for periodic review of subsequent updates as per scope of work.
• Oversee translation of applicable patient recruitment and retention materials and tactics.
• Oversee printing, distribution, inventory management and destruction of patient recruitment and retention materials.
• Lead discussions with sponsor and internal teams on the performance of patient recruitment solutions, including suggested changes or adaptations, collaborating with the Accelerate Clinical Enrollment (ACE) team, Internal/External Account Directors and other cross-functional partners.
• Support department resourcing by floating studies as needed or required.
• Act as main point of contact for R&R Ops PM, communicating timely project updates and project-related fiscal information to the client, and collaborating with contracts and proposals development, project management and clinical management to achieve contractual and financial goals.
• Manage the project within contracted direct and indirect budgets and timelines, ensuring out-of-scope activities are not initiated before being documented via budget update, communicated to the project management team and approved by the sponsor; make recommendations on R&R Ops related change orders.
• Proactively identify the most appropriate solution partner for the study, indication and protocol specifics, ensuring vendors are qualified and contracted per Syneos Health SOPs/WIs and loaded into applicable finance systems; identify and independently resolve vendor issues with Line Manager notification.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet customer expectations, including contracted deliverables, accurate projections, reports and updates, with ongoing risk assessment and proactive mitigation; complete and document scope changes.
• Lead conversations with internal teams and clients on new strategies to support enrollment.
• Contribute to departmental growth through internal and external business development opportunities, including pre-award support and R&R consultation on existing projects.
• Serve as mentor and/or provide project management oversight to more junior staff.
• Lead or participate in change initiatives across and within the Inclusion & Access Department.

What you'll need

• BA/BS in the biological sciences or a related discipline in the natural sciences or health care field (e.g. RN).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database applications), email and internet.
• Strong presentation skills, interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask under tight deadlines on several projects with specific and unique requirements, while providing attention to detail and high-quality work.
• Ability to be flexible, adapt to change, work independently, and work as part of a team in a matrix environment.
