Performance Engineer, Sr.SDet

Overview

Hands-on performance QA role certifying mobile and desktop platforms, working with an LPL Domain team on application performance and stability.

What you'll do

• Drive performance and scale outcomes so Domain deliveries meet non-functional requirements and can scale ahead of LPL's business growth
• Coordinate and create Performance Test Strategies in support of Domain deliveries
• Identify and document KPIs and SLAs for the applications
• Perform load tests to validate system performance and stability
• Analyze test results and work with Developers and Engineers to perform bug fixes
• Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability
• Find and document defects and work with Development to resolve them
• Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and suggest corrective actions
• Oversee the performance test lifecycle
• Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements
• Generate periodic performance reports for management review
• Generate metrics and systematically collect data
• Work as part of a Scrum team with Development, QA, Product and Project management
• Design automated tests to evaluate the performance of complex systems and analyze and document the results

What you'll need

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience or equivalent in Application Development
• 5+ years of experience in QA Performance Testing including Web and Mobile applications, with an emphasis on hands-on experience developing and executing automated test scripts
• Experience with AWS Cloud
• Proficient in at least one of the following: (1) testing solutions that conform to service oriented architecture guidelines; (2) test management tools (JIRA, Quality Center); (3) solid development skills including Java, .NET; (4) SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries to perform back-end testing
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in component testing web and/or Windows services
• Knowledge of performance test methodologies and tools
• Knowledge of Agile development methodology
• Expertise in test planning and documentation
• Defining and executing test cases
• Problem-solving and debugging skills

Nice to have

• Financial and Quality Assurance and software certifications
• Database skills: ANSI, Oracle, MS SQL Server
• CDC/Kafka strongly preferred
