Port Service Engineer

Overview

Port Service Engineer role focused on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of lifting equipment and automation solutions used in ports and terminals.

What you'll do

• Perform electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing for port equipment.
• Service and repair Port Solution products such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in primarily electrical equipment, drive technologies, and PLCs.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety-related issues.
• Prepare accurate and descriptive problem reports.
• Complete inspection and examination documentation as appropriate.

What you'll need

• Be electrically qualified and have a basic understanding of mechanics and hydraulics.
• Prefer experience with Siemens S7.
• Have good attention to detail.
• Be organised and self-motivated.
• Be computer proficient, including basic networking and component diagnostics.
• Be familiar with PUWER 1998 and LOLER in the UK.
• Have a UK driver’s licence and be able to work at height.

Details

• Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom.
• Travel is required, with periods away from home up to two weeks at a time.
• Overseas work is possible but not mandatory.
