Overview
Port Service Engineer to maintain and repair lifting equipment and automation solutions used in ports, harbours, and terminals.
What you'll do
- Carry out maintenance and repair of port solution products such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers.
- Perform electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, primarily electrical equipment, drive technologies, and PLCs.
- Consult customers on repair and safety-related issues.
- Produce accurate and descriptive problem reports.
- Complete inspection and examination documentation as appropriate.
What you'll need
- Be electrically qualified.
- Have a basic understanding of mechanics and hydraulics.
- Be computer proficient, including basic networking and component diagnostics.
- Be familiar with PUWER 1998 and LOLER (UK).
- Hold a UK driver’s licence.
- Be able to work at height.
- Be able to spend periods away from home (up to two weeks at a time).
Nice to have
- Experience of Siemens S7.

- Location listed as Kingston upon Hull, England, United Kingdom.
- Willingness to travel is a key requirement; from time to time overseas work is possible but not mandatory.
- Ideally based in the north of the UK, preferably northeast (Newcastle, Gateshead, Middlesbrough or the Humber area).
