Principal Engineer - Validation SSD NVMe/PCIe

Overview

Principal Engineer - Validation for SSD firmware validation covering functional, system-level, and customer quality tests. Own test planning and execution strategy across NVMe/PCIe and related specifications.

What you'll do

• Define test plans, test cases, and develop test scripts to validate SSD firmware.
• Execute validation across functional, system-level, and customer quality-centric test areas.
• Develop software/firmware/device validation test plans and test content.
• Integrate tests into an automated test environment and collaborate with test execution teams.
• Review, track, and document test results and sightings, then drive issues to closure with other teams.
• Communicate validation status, issues, concerns, strategies, and indicators for programs/projects.

What you'll need

• 8+ years experience in SSD product validation (8–14 years in embedded firmware also accepted).
• Strong understanding of NVMe/PCIe specifications and NVMe Cloud SSD specifications.
• Must have hands-on debugging experience of NVMe protocol issues using Lecroy/JDSU analyzers.
• Must have prepared test plans involving IO workloads, NVMe protocols, and Flash Translation Layer plus back end/NAND media management.
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system debugging and coding in Python.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• System storage knowledge including CPU, memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, firmware relationships.
