Principal Engineer - FPT Validation

Overview

Principal Engineer focused on SSD firmware validation for Enterprise and Datacenter class NVMe SSD products.

What you'll do

• Define test plans, test cases, and develop test scripts for validating SSD firmware.
• Validate firmware across areas including front end, back end/media management, FTL, or security.
• Understand NVMe/PCIe and NVMe Cloud SSD specifications alongside customer-specific requirements.
• Work with firmware development teams to find defects and validate fixes using grey-box and whitebox tests.
• Communicate program/project status, issues, concerns, and strategies with appropriate indicators.
• Review, track, and document test results and drive issues to closure with product development teams.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in SSD firmware validation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Proficiency using AI tools, specifically Claude, to perform tasks efficiently.
• Strong understanding of whitebox and grey box test methods for Enterprise/Datacenter SSD firmware.
• Good knowledge of Linux debugging and coding in Python.
• Experience debugging NVMe protocol issues using Lecroy/JDSU analyzers is highly desired.
