Overview

Test Staff Engineer focused on Firewall/Security testing and hands-on automation to ensure high-quality SonicOS releases.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end test strategy, planning, execution, and quality sign-off for SonicOS components.
• Architect, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, pipelines, and test tools.
• Lead an automation-first regression strategy to improve test coverage.
• Run complex system, integration, and upgrade/downgrade testing.
• Perform root-cause analysis and validation for critical customer issues.
• Mentor engineers by reviewing test plans, automation design, and coverage.
• Drive release readiness, escape analysis, and quality metrics.

What you'll need

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in QA and automation.
• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VLANs, and firewall policies.
• Firewall/security testing experience including VPN, DPI/App Control, IPS, Gateway AV, Geo-IP, and botnet.
• Automation/scripting using Playwright or Selenium and PyTest or Robot Framework.
• Programming: Python or JavaScript for framework/tool development.
• Linux/Unix debugging with logs/core dumps and packet capture using tcpdump/Wireshark.
• CI/CD integration using Jenkins and Git-based pipelines; defect tracking in JIRA or similar.

Nice to have

• Experience with signature-based services and live update pipelines.
• Cloud test environments using AWS or Azure.
• Handling customer escalations and reproducing field issues.
• Exposure to effective usage of AI tools.
