Senior Systems/Software Engineer(Python Automation, IP Routing, Multicast protocols, IP fundamentals)

Overview

Senior Systems/Software Engineer focused on Python automation and network testing for releases across complex IP routing and multicast protocols.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with field engineers and customers to break down complex deployment architectures into test strategies.
• Build large-scale network topologies to validate software releases for performance demands.
• Perform root cause analysis on field issues to find coverage gaps and prevent regressions.
• Lead customer proof-of-concepts and respond to RFPs for critical customer escalations.
• Design and maintain modular Python APIs and libraries for automation.
• Integrate AI-based testing methodologies to improve execution efficiency and predictive analysis.

What you'll need

• Deep understanding of IP fundamentals including ARP, ICMP, TCP/UDP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with IP routing (BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS) and multicast protocols (IGMP, IGMP-Snooping, PIM).
• Deep understanding of network system architectures such as line card/chassis interactions and control plane vs data plane separation.
• Ability to explain how networking components integrate into end-to-end solutions (e.g., data center fabrics, ISP core, SD-WAN).
• Proficiency using tools like Spirent or IXIA to generate high-scale traffic and stress-test protocols.
• In-depth Python skills, including building modular test automation frameworks from scratch.

Nice to have

• JNCIE or CCIE certification is preferred (not mandatory).
