Job description

Overview

Principal Software Engineer in Business Banking, delivering strategic technology solutions for branch applications in partnership with business and IT teams.

What you'll do

Analyse systems and applications and provide recommendations for enhancement and development
Contribute to the technical design of system enhancements
Carry out software development and quality control of software developed by a geographically dispersed team
Work within a team environment and provide assistance in the management and leadership of your team and complete associated tasks
Follow release and change processes in the compilation and distribution of software builds and releases to development and test environments, as well as system updates into production
Troubleshoot complex deployment and environment issues
Assist with preparation and documentation of deployment and configuration scripts for development, test and production environments

What you'll need

16+ years of relevant hands-on work experience in software development
Experience in creating high level solution architecture flows
Experience in BIAN architecture
Experience in Microservices Architecture
Experience in developing technical solutions using .NET Core, React JS, Typescript, Next.js, Node.js, Python, REST, GraphQL and API Development
Experience with source control systems such as GitHub
Experience with build and deployment tools such as GitHub Actions
Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora
Extensive experience in cloud platforms such as AWS
Experience in TDD
Awareness or experience of monitoring tools such as Observe, Prometheus, Grafana
Well versed in AI-powered engineering tools such as Cline, GitHub Copilot
Awareness or experience in DevOps or DevSecOps
Experience in secure coding practices
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
