Production Designer

Overview

Support the development of design solutions for Lowe's Private Brand packaging and in-store displays, executing packaging designs across Home Décor, Seasonal/Hardlines and Building Materials.

What you'll do

• Uphold established brand positioning and guardrails across assigned Private Brand packaging, with guidance from the Packaging Design Manager and/or Senior Designer.
• Understand private brand product categories and key competitors, and develop design solutions across multiple packaging types and sizes.
• Provide packaging templates as required to keep packaging solutions on schedule.
• Understand photography guidelines and photo art direction across all brands.
• Understand the packaging production process, collaborate with global production designers, and ensure design templates are understandable and effective for SKU production.
• Communicate consistently with project stakeholders to meet deliverables.
• Ensure quality and brand standards are met, and that packaging resonates with consumers and facilitates the buying process.
• Present designs to the Packaging Design Manager and/or Senior Designer for review and approval.
• Develop strong working relationships with peers, project members and global teams.

What you'll need

• 2-5 years of experience.
• Graduation or diploma in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Visual Communication or a related design discipline, with a design portfolio.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and technically tight, print-ready mechanicals.
• Strong understanding of dyelines, prepress, Litho/Flexo and packaging production constraints.
• Ability to develop toolkits, style guides, schematics, mock-ups and scalable master templates.
• Ability to advise partners on production feasibility and independently resolve most artwork challenges.
• Strong collaboration, prioritization, quality review and customer-focused communication skills.
