QA Engineer - Automation

Overview

QA Engineer focused on automation, designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and test suites for software applications and services. Work is performed on a 100% telecommuting basis across various and unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. (HQ: Chicago, IL).

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and test suites for software applications and services.
• Debug software products through systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards.
• Develop, modify, and execute software test plans, automated scripts, and test programs.
• Analyze and document test standards, methodologies, and procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test results to support debugging, troubleshooting, and software modifications.
• Analyze test outcomes to verify existing functionality, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with development engineers to investigate issues and support problem resolution.
• Provide feedback and technical input for evaluations of programming languages, systems, and computational software.
• Help ensure the quality and integration of computer systems within the broader functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in QA engineering.
• Required skills: automation, software engineering, Oracle, Cassandra, Java, Selenium, WebDriver, web development, database management systems, RESTful API calls, Kafka, data structures and algorithms, good coding practices, GitHub/GitLab, Jira, terminal and server knowledge, NoSQL, JSON, XML, writing/documenting test cases.
