Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview

Glean is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to assess the quality of its web application through manual and automation testing, finding and reporting bugs and glitches with an initial level of root cause analysis.

What you'll do

• Create, execute and maintain test plans to qualify product releases and features
• Do initial RCA on bugs found using developer tools (network and console tabs), GCP server logs, SQL analysis, etc.
• Report bugs and errors in Jira with in-depth details to help the engineering team identify and fix issues
• Help reproduce bugs raised externally
• Execute extended and edge cases around the main use case to help evolve the test plans
• Work with the development team to keep test plans up to date with new changes
• Contribute to the existing automation framework
• Triage and fix failing tests and keep them up to date with product changes

What you'll need

• Proven 2+ years of experience as an automation and manual tester, testing responsive web pages
• Experience testing on different OS platforms and browsers
• Working experience with tools like Jira and Chrome Developer Tools to report and troubleshoot errors
• Strong knowledge of how web-based applications work
• Strong organisational skills and thoroughness in executing test plans
• Attention to detail and an analytical mind to come up with hard-to-find edge cases
• Experience working in agile teams with multiple product releases per week
• Comfortable working with Python or Java
• Excellent communication skills
• BE/BTech/BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Nice to have

• Experience testing RBAC/permission models
• Exposure to REST APIs
• Experience testing mobile applications

• Location: Bangalore, India
• Hybrid: 4 days a week in the Bangalore office
