Quantitative Developer, Risk Technology

Overview

Point72's Technology team is seeking a Quantitative Developer to work with Risk quants and engineers on risk factor models, risk and performance analytics, and a scalable risk reporting framework.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with Risk quants to design new risk factor models and refine existing ones
• Develop quantitative risk and performance analytics to proactively anticipate and address stakeholder needs
• Build a scalable reporting framework capable of processing terabytes of data for complex risk calculations
• Collaborate with engineers on system design, code quality, and architecture decisions across the team's shared codebase
• Partner directly with risk, research and other internal teams to translate ambiguous business problems into technical requirements and solutions

What you'll need

• Strong understanding of equity factor models and their construction and application (e.g., MSCI Barra, Axioma, Bloomberg)
• Demonstrated track record and hands-on experience in financial instrument modeling, particularly within the equity space
• 5+ years of programming experience in Python or another language commonly used in quantitative and statistical work (e.g., R, Julia, MATLAB), in a quantitative or research environment
• Working understanding of layered/medallion-style data architecture (bronze/silver/gold), with enough hands-on pipeline experience to implement components alongside team members
• Advanced SQL skills, including experience with complex stored procedures, query optimization, and partition management, in large-scale or distributed data environments
• Problem solving skills with deep understanding of core computer science algorithms and data structures
• Training in computer science, math, physics or related technical fields
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
