R&D Chemist / Senior R&D Chemist (Cementitious & Building Finishing System) (Nilai Based)

Overview

R&D Chemist/senior R&D Chemist focused on cementitious and building finishing systems, including product development and formulation testing from lab through field and plant trials.

What you'll do

• Improve existing formulations for performance and/or cost.
• Develop new products to meet market needs.
• Evaluate and approve alternative raw materials for cost and/or performance.
• Organize and prioritize projects to meet agreed project timelines.
• Run lab tests and perform production/plant trials for improved and new formulations.
• Support customer field testing and lab testing when necessary.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure equipment functionality.

What you'll need

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or applied science (Chemistry).
• 3-5 years of experience in R&D with focus on cementitious materials and/or concrete technology.
• Ability to communicate well in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficiency with computers (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to sites.

• Must ensure EHS compliance and report hazards immediately.
• Comply with Sika Life Saving Rule.
• Back up QC activity when necessary.
• Update Bills of Material when raw materials/formulations change.
• Maintain confidentiality of formulations and company information.
