Recovery Officer

About the Job

As a Recovery Officer (Contract), you will play a critical role in safeguarding revenues and maintaining strong customer relationships through effective collections and recovery activities. Working Remote, you will manage case portfolios, evaluate repayment statuses, and drive timely resolution through structured collection strategies. This is a field-oriented recovery role where disciplined execution, persuasive communication, and accurate reporting are essential to achieve targets. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to ensure every recovery process is compliant, respectful, and effective—helping customers get back on track while protecting the financial health of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage assigned customer accounts end-to-end, ensuring timely collection actions in line with agreed processes.
• Conduct in-person or field-based recovery activities where required, including locating customers and verifying information.
• Engage with customers professionally to understand circumstances, negotiate workable repayment plans, and promote resolution.
• Monitor payment progress, update account status, and maintain detailed case notes in relevant systems.
• Ensure recovery practices remain compliant with applicable regulations and internal policies.
• Identify patterns in delinquency and provide insights to improve collection effectiveness and reduce future risk.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to escalate high-risk cases and track recovery outcomes against targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in Collection Management with strong focus on targets and timely follow-up.
• Proven experience in Field Sales or field customer engagement—comfortable working independently.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence positive outcomes.
• High integrity and professionalism when dealing with sensitive customer situations.
• Good analytical ability to assess cases, prioritize efforts, and decide next steps.
• Reliable reporting skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
