RF Applications Engineer, Senior Lead

Overview

Senior hardware role supporting customers developing wireless products on Qualcomm chipsets, covering design support, troubleshooting, and training.

What you'll do

• Engage with customer designs and assist customers in feature definition and design reviews.
• Provide in-depth technical responses to customer queries.
• Troubleshoot customer designs and provide necessary training to customers.
• Interact with multiple teams in HW and SW domains, RF systems and test.
• Provide hardware design support to customers developing wireless products.
• Perform block diagram, schematic, placement, and PCB design reviews on customer products, and resolve technical problems via hands-on troubleshooting.
• Aid customers in implementing new technology using Qualcomm chipsets.
• Provide upfront support to business teams for new projects.
• Review customer layouts using CAD tools such as Allegro/PADS.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• Understanding of RF systems and familiarity with cellular standards.
• Strong understanding of cellular technologies like GSM, LTE, 5G etc.
• Understanding of RF component characteristics and behavior.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with PCB CAD tools such as Allegro and PADS.
• Fluency with CAD tools like Allegro/PADS.
• Good communication skills.

Nice to have

• Ability to conduct GSM/C2K/TDSCDMA/WCDMA/LTE/5G SUB6/5G mmW test.
• Digital circuit design, software programming, or power management experience.
