Safety Engineer

Overview

Oversee health, safety and environment (HSE) compliance across IBMS, ELV, BMS, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, networking and integrated building technology projects at project sites.

What you'll do

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures and safety standards at project sites.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory and customer safety requirements.
• Carry out Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessment before commencement of activities.
• Monitor installation, testing and commissioning activities related to Building Management Systems (BMS), Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS), CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems (ACS), fire alarm systems and structured cabling & networking.
• Ensure safe execution of electrical and low-voltage works.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Maintain permits to work (PTW) and safety documentation.
• Ensure PPE compliance across the workforce and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Organize safety awareness programs.
• Conduct internal safety audits and compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with customer EHS teams and regulatory authorities.

What you'll need

• Diploma or BE / B.Tech in Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in construction, electrical, IBMS, BMS, ELV, CCTV or building automation projects.
• Hands-on experience in work at height, electrical safety, permit to work system, contractor safety management and incident investigation.
• Knowledge of EHS regulations and statutory compliance.
• Risk assessment and hazard identification.
• Safety audits and inspections.
• Emergency response planning.
• MS Office and documentation management.

Nice to have

• Diploma in Industrial Safety or advanced safety certification.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent.
• Experience handling large commercial, industrial, data center, pharma, IT park or manufacturing projects.

Details

• Contractual role, 1-year contract, renewable based on performance and business requirements.
• Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
• Reports to Project Manager / EHS Manager.
