SAP BI/BW Developer

Overview

Remote SAP BI/BW focused data engineering role supporting BI delivery and operations within corporate IT. You’ll prototype, build, and support data and AI integrations, including ETL/ELT, analytics models, and operational readiness.

What you'll do

• Support prototyping, testing, and implementation of data and AI use cases with Databricks, SAP Business AI, or cloud AI services.
• Assist in integrating AI capabilities using LLM APIs, custom API connectors, or retrieval workflows.
• Contribute to data acquisition, cleansing, transformation, and mapping for analytical reporting and AI applications.
• Evaluate data sources and design basic ETL/ELT pipelines with data preparation and business rule development.
• Automate repetitive data workflows, testing tasks, and monitoring scripts using Python and SQL.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and support incidents/requests via standard ITSM lifecycles.
• Participate in on-call schedules to handle critical operational incidents and data pipeline issues.

What you'll need

• 3–5 years of practical experience in data engineering, software development, or data analytics.
• Hands-on experience writing clean Python code.
• Hands-on experience consuming REST APIs.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern AI frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Python (including Pandas and API integration) and complex SQL queries.
• Practical experience with Databricks and PySpark (or similar cloud data platforms).
• Experience working with LLM APIs or building API-driven integrations/prototypes.

Nice to have

• Basic familiarity with SAP data structures or exposure to SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, CDS views, or SAP Business AI.
• Exposure to MCP concepts or orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Familiarity with SAP BOBJ, Power BI, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field (desired).
