Science Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

Overview

Freelance remote contract role training large language models on science topics by challenging the model, verifying accuracy, and documenting failure modes.

What you'll do

• Converse with advanced language models on real-world scenarios and theoretical science questions, including energy transformation, atomic structure, planetary motion, ecological systems, the water cycle, and scientific inquiry.
• Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model responses.
• Capture reproducible error traces and document every failure mode.
• Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

What you'll need

• Expertise in science, such as physical science, earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, astronomy, or scientific literacy.
• A bachelor's, master's, or PhD in a science field is ideal.
• Clear, metacognitive communication, "showing your work".

Nice to have

• Teaching experience, published work, lab or field research, or science communication projects.
