Senior AI Engineer - Proofline

Overview

Own retrieval and knowledge (RAG) capabilities end to end, from document ingestion through retrieval quality, evaluation, and improvements.

What you'll do

• Own the retrieval pipeline including ingestion, chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, and reranking.
• Build dual-corpus retrieval across published literature and private institutional documents with provenance.
• Implement citation and identifier resolution (DOI/arXiv-class) and large-corpus onboarding.
• Own retrieval evaluation by building a harness, setting metrics, and proving improvements release over release.

What you'll need

• Have ML/backend engineering experience with production RAG, search, or IR systems.
• Be strong in Python.
• Have hands-on experience with embeddings, vector stores, and rerankers.
• Demonstrate evaluation rigor by measuring and improving retrieval quality.

Nice to have

• Graph databases experience.
• Comfort with scientific or technical document corpora.
