Senior Android Engineer

Overview

Senior Android Engineer to lead Android efforts at Backbase's new hub, acting as technical lead and source of truth for Android implementation across customer projects.

What you'll do

• Act as technical lead for Android and set the direction for the Android team.
• Integrate the Backbase platform into customer systems and build tailored solutions on top of it.
• Take the expert role for anything related to Android during projects.
• Build apps mainly using native technology, writing clean code and running tests.
• Coach a team of client-side developers.
• Cover feature development, innovation, maintenance, upgrades and on-call support.
• Provide solicited and unsolicited advice, mentoring, audits and on-the-job training.
• Deliver speedy and cost-efficient solutions.
• Run workshops and training, and share knowledge with others.

What you'll need

• Developed at least three apps, at least one of which is available on Google Play.
• Excellent at reading code to analyze it quickly.
• Strong mobile development skills for Android.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, with Java knowledge.
• A getting-things-done mentality.
• Enjoy mentoring and helping other developers grow.

Nice to have

• Born presenter, or eager to learn how to deliver outstanding presentations.
