Senior Associate – Agentic AI + Java Engineer, Advisory

Overview

Senior Associate in PwC's Advisory practice (FS X-Sector, Operations) to design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and intelligent AI-driven solutions, with a focus on Agentic AI and Java backend engineering.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and intelligent AI-driven solutions.
• Build robust APIs and services.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Develop AI agents and orchestration workflows.
• Design reliable production-grade systems.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, product managers, software engineers, data engineers and AI/ML teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

What you'll need

• 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java.
• Strong understanding of Core Java, REST APIs, microservices, object-oriented programming, data structures and design patterns.
• Proven experience in System Design and Software Architecture.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI / LLM-based application development.
• Experience developing or integrating Agentic AI / AI-agent-based solutions.
• Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, function/tool calling, RAG, embeddings and vector-based retrieval.
• Strong knowledge of API development and integration with external/internal services.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Mandatory: Oracle Agentic Studio or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) familiarity.
• Mandatory: Pega Platform integration experience (decision strategies, case management APIs).
• Mandatory: ServiceNow Now Platform integration (Virtual Agent, Flow Designer, REST APIs).
• Mandatory: Multi-modal AI capabilities, including document image classification and form extraction (Azure Form Recognizer).
• Mandatory: Experience with UiPath RPA and willingness to guide transition to Agentic frameworks.
• Mandatory: Azure certifications AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert), AZ-304 and AI-102 (Azure AI Engineer Associate).
• Mandatory: Healthcare GCC or BPO delivery experience.
• 5–8 years of professional software development and cloud engineering experience.
• 4–5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure platform (architecture and production deployments).
• 4 years of production-level Python development.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure AI services and LLM/Agentic AI integrations.
• Production-level Python: FastAPI, async patterns, enterprise-grade APIs.
• 3+ years hands-on with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI and Agentic AI delivery.
• Ability to build and evaluate full RAG pipelines and multi-agent systems end-to-end.
• Cross-platform thinking: comfortable integrating agents across Oracle, Azure, Pega and ServiceNow.
• Leader mindset: can independently guide architectural decisions, mentor cross-skilling engineers and drive delivery excellence.
• Degree required: Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Engineering.
