Overview
Senior Azure DevOps Engineer owning CI/CD, Azure and AKS platform operations, and the bridge between cloud services and on-premises Linux lab and FPGA hardware, including hardening a new external-facing Azure subscription.
What you'll do
- Design, maintain and continuously improve pipelines covering the full delivery lifecycle for the Node.js, TypeScript and React codebase.
- Support the development team when pipelines break or releases go wrong, and embed automated testing, regression coverage, reproducible builds and useful documentation into the workflow.
- Build automation and AI-driven operations, including intelligent alerting, automated remediation and generated runbooks, to reduce repeated manual tasks.
- Own the day-to-day health and long-term evolution of the internal Azure environment: Kubernetes workloads, data services, storage, networking and identity systems.
- Maintain the connection between cloud and lab, keeping Linux hosts and hardware systems connected and operational.
- Work with network and cybersecurity teams to design and harden the external Azure subscription, including zero-trust access, network segmentation, secrets management, private endpoints and audit logging.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including ownership of production environments.
- Strong experience with YAML pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, self-hosted build agents, Git workflows and release management, including deployment across development, test and production, versioning and rollback.
- Practical experience deploying, operating and troubleshooting production workloads using Docker and Helm on Kubernetes/AKS, including configuration, networking, storage, scaling and upgrades.
- Experience managing compute, storage, virtual networks, DNS, firewalls and connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience creating repeatable infrastructure deployments using Terraform, Bicep or equivalent tools.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting across services, processes, permissions, networking, storage and shared file systems such as NFS.
- Ability to write maintainable automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar languages.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for JavaScript and TypeScript applications, particularly React frontends, Node.js backends and containerized microservices.
- Practical understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, authentication and authorization, role-based access control, service and workload identities, secrets and certificate management, least privilege and network isolation.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, and familiarity with NoSQL systems, including deployment, connectivity, access permissions, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Experience with centralized logs, metrics, dashboards and alerts using Azure Monitor, Application Insights or equivalent tools.
- Ability to drive infrastructure improvements from design through production, document decisions and work effectively with developers, IT and security teams.
