Senior Azure DevOps Engineer (L2 Operations)

Overview

Provides Software Applications Engineering support for larger and more complex applications and project areas, with responsibility for Azure DevOps operations, application delivery, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, and technical improvement.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and write YAML-based CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with Microsoft platform (.Net).
• Provision and manage Azure resources using Terraform or Bicep.
• Perform root cause analysis for deployment failures and production infrastructure outages.
• Configure Azure RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault secrets, and network security groups (NSGs).
• Set up and track application health via Azure Monitor and Application Insights or any tools.
• Use Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python, Git branching strategies, and SonarQube for automation.
• Deploy Docker and Kubernetes containers.
• Manage IIS and application configuration logs.
• Right-size virtual machines, clean up idle disks, and support FinOps practices.
• Guide development teams on cloud and DevOps best practices.
• Resolve cross-functional infrastructure and database connectivity issues.
• Maintain technical documentation for architectures and runbooks.
• Perform builds and deployments for application development efforts.
• Design basic requirements that are effective, timely, and comply with project standards.
• Configure, program, and test applications and technical architecture components.
• Fix defects and performance-related problems.
• Review design, coding, and unit testing for compliance with project standards.
• Work with the BA team to understand requirements and use cases.
• Develop sizing for assigned use cases with inputs from the BA team.
• Deploy QAT or UAT environments independently.
• Work with the testing team on existing and newly generated regression issues and provide solutions.
• Explore alternative solutions by selecting the best option through applying DAR techniques.
• Participate in code reviews and work with developers, designers, and architects to ensure requirements are met.
• Ensure the integrity of development, test, QA, and staging environments.
• Lead efforts in specific process improvement and technical automation areas.
• Provide regular status updates for self and team to the project lead or manager.
• Help less experienced team members complete upskilling training and tasks.

What you'll need

• BA/BS degree and 5+ years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong grasp of Azure PaaS and IaaS, including App Services, VNets, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and AKS.
• Proficiency with Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python, Git branching strategies, and SonarQube.
• Basic-to-intermediate Docker and Kubernetes container deployment knowledge.
• Knowledge of IIS and application configuration logs.
