Senior Backend Engineer

Overview

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing and scaling production-grade Python backend systems that support AI-native products, including multi-agent workflows, RAG, and provider-agnostic LLM integrations.

What you'll do

• Design and scale asynchronous REST and WebSocket APIs in Python.
• Implement sequential, concurrent, and handoff multi-agent workflows.
• Integrate multiple LLM providers through a provider-agnostic layer.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines using vector stores.
• Design schemas and evolve data models with migrations.
• Instrument services with logs, tracing, and cost and latency metrics.
• Own CI/CD from testing and packaging through deployment.

What you'll need

• 5+ years building production backend systems in Python.
• Hands-on experience with asynchronous I/O and REST or async APIs.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Gemini.
• Experience with vector databases and RAG architectures.
• Strong relational database skills, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience owning CI/CD across build, test, packaging, and deployment.
• Experience setting guardrails for AI-generated code, provenance, licensing, and customer data.

Nice to have

• Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or similar multi-agent frameworks.
• Experience with LLM cost and observability tooling.
