Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Overview

Build and run production backend services in Go for Disney digital experiences, working across systems and teams. Design reliable APIs, data models, and event-driven services on AWS.

What you'll do

• Design and build HTTP APIs in Go.
• Build event consumers and own their data models.
• Make resilience and rollout decisions and document the reasoning.
• Own production dashboards, alerts, and follow-up.
• Improve the codebase, tooling, and delivery pipeline.
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews and clear writing.

What you'll need

• Professional experience building and running backend services in production.
• Experience with a typed programming language.
• Comfort with relational data and message streams or queues.
• Ability to test your work and communicate clearly in writing.
• Experience improving other engineers through review, pairing, or mentoring.
• Ability to work closely with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with OpenAPI code generation.
• Experience with OIDC.
• Experience with Terraform.

Details

• Remote role available from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, or Finland.
• Full-time employment.
• Travel may be required approximately 2–4 times per year.
