Senior Customer Success Engineer, Japan

Overview

Support customers across APJ as a technical advisor, helping them adopt GitLab, implement DevSecOps workflows, and achieve measurable value. The role involves customer guidance, enablement, and collaboration with account teams in a remote, asynchronous environment.

What you'll do

• Provide technical consultancy and solution guidance through Zoom and written channels.
• Drive product adoption and measurable customer value across APJ accounts.
• Deliver architectural guidance across source code management, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Agile planning.
• Lead customer workshops, demos, and enablement sessions.
• Partner with Account Executives and Renewals Managers on retention and growth.
• Improve documentation, share technical knowledge, and mentor customers and team members.
• Manage multiple customer engagements and communicate status, risks, and next steps.

What you'll need

• Experience providing technical consultancy and solution guidance through video calls and written channels.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps workflows, source code management, CI/CD, security, and Agile planning.
• Hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, or a similar technical environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead or support workshops, demos, and enablement sessions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, asynchronous environment.
• Fluency in Japanese and English, with full working rights in Japan.
