Senior Data Engineer

Overview

Senior Data Engineer role on Ethos’ Data Platform team to build internal infrastructure, services, and tooling for the company data stack.

What you'll do

• Build and operate internal data platforms and services.
• Design and run distributed workflow systems using Temporal and Airflow.
• Develop config-driven platform applications for ingestion and transformation jobs.
• Write and maintain internally shared Python libraries and Airflow operators.
• Administer owned data infrastructure including Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Airflow, and Kafka with governance, reliability, and cost focus.
• Implement production monitoring, alerting, and optimization for platforms and ML models.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Go or Python listed).
• Experience building backend systems/internal tools/platform applications in production.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and system design.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Strong understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and data governance.
