Senior Engineer, AS

Overview

Senior Engineer (Associate) on the cards team for Germany, managing an Angular frontend application, including analysis, development and administration, with functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.

What you'll do

• Plan and develop entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
• Build reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and review throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Ensure maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
• Ensure solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
• Review engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability
• Actively participate in the design and development of solutions aligned to business goals
• Translate business and functional requirements into a technical solution design
• Manage implementation jointly with vendors, support testing activities and ensure handover into production and to L2 Support
• Ensure solution designs are aligned to the technical platform modernization strategy
• Act as Subject Matter Expert as part of L3 Support to maintain a stable and maintainable production environment
• Actively take part in incident and request analysis and drive problem resolution

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience with Angular 16 or later, including component-based architecture, services, routing, forms, and dependency injection
• Strong proficiency in RxJS and reactive programming concepts, including observables and operators
• Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript
• Strong command of semantic HTML and modern CSS/SCSS
• Experience building responsive user interfaces with Bootstrap
• Working knowledge of Node.js and NPM for dependency and build management
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests with Jasmine and Karma
• Good understanding of software engineering principles, coding standards, debugging, and version-controlled development workflows
• Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair working, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Familiarity with Agile team management tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Pro-active team player with good communication skills and good English language skills
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM environment including agile tooling and methodology together with knowledge of cards
• Bachelor's degree from a college or university with a focus on IT or data evaluation and/or comparable professional experience
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
